Guide

Crustle is a versatile defender character, capable of dealing out decent DPS. But its primary function is to be a tank for your team.

Rock Tomb makes this a bit of a higher skillcap build, since it’s easy to screw over a teammate with a poorly-timed Rock Tomb, but time it right and combine it with X-Scissor and you have a near-inescapable CC chain.

Your basic combo is to throw down a Rock Tomb, X-Scissor them into it, and then, if it’s a high priority target, Rubble Rouser them just to really bring it home. This isn’t a build that has much carry potential, but in a lane with a coordinated teammate, it’ll work wonders.

Rocky Helmet and Assault Vest are standard go-to tank items, but Focus Band synergizes really well with Crustle’s passive. The lower your Health gets, the higher your defenses get. With Focus Band, you can constantly be straddling the line between when your passive kicks in and when it doesn’t, allowing attacks that would otherwise KO you to instead bounce off harmlessly. If you’re looking for a bit more of a supportive set, for example if you had a team of 5 in a voice call, you could optionally sub out Assault Vest for Buddy Barrier instead, though I wouldn’t recommend this for solo queue.
