Guide
Most of Hoopa's builds focus on using Hyperspace Hole to let the team move freely between lanes, although while sacrificing a ton of potential damage during lane fights and team fights.
This build focuses on the buffs that Trick gives to both Hoopa and it's teammates. The base ability increases movement speed by a noticeable amount, while also granting both a shield (Approx 10% of Hoopa's HP). The upgraded version also adds life steal to the teammate that receives the shield, boosting survivability.
Even when Hoopa is alone on the lane against a Jungler or other high DPS Pokémon, it can use Trick on itself to escape the fight (Remember that it is a Support, not a Sank. Don't expect it to escape after a stun versus 3 opponents).
The best part of the build comes with the second move.
When an ally receives the buff, every basic attack and ability cast is also cast from that same ally. This means that Hoopa will hit for twice the damage while under the effect of Trick.
The other ability, Shadow Ball, is crucial to the build. When Shadow Ball hits an enemy Pokémon, for a short time, if it is hit by Hoopa's third basic attack, it will become stunned. As a bonus, it even decreases the opposing Pokémon's Sp.Def (And this stacks twice if it gets hit by the two Shadow Balls Trick lets you fire!) and slows them. This leads to very high damage during team fights, and can easily tilt the balance of a lane fight thorough most of the game.
Lastly, Rings Unbound is the "Team fight start" ability. It offers extremely high utility, transforming Hoopa into a literal monster and potentially summoning all of your team on an objective or lane. Hoopa unbound sports an amazing AoE stun that deals A LOT of damage, and Psybeam can easily finish off any squishies trying to snipe you from far away. But remember, while very big and strong, you're not immortal. Try to use the move before you take damage or in a team fight, because with enough battering you'll go down.
Muscle band is chosen over Focus Band for the sheer damage output it offers (It synergizes very well while you're Hoopa Unbound, as its attack speed greatly increases too).
Buddy Barrier gives the usual shield to the lowest health teammate and to yourself, so it works very well considering Hoopa likes to fight with company. Also, when you turn to unbound form, 40% of your total health AFTER the transformation becomes a shield (Around 4k Shield health).
Last but not least, Energy Amp boost the amount of Unite energy you get, so you can get your Unite move online as fast as possible, while also offering some nice cooldown.
X Attack is preferred if you choose a completely offensive approach. It speeds up Hoopa's basic attacks enough to get at least two stuns from a single cast of Shadow Ball and synergizes quite well with muscle band. This build works very well with Melee teammates like Lucario and Tsareena.
You can also grab Slow Smoke to get more CC instead of X attack, and give the team more utility.
