Guide
The rework for Gengar makes Gengar get hex or dream eater at 5 instead of level 7.
Choosing Will-O-Wisp first allows a low cooldown and burn to kill the lillipup and move on to the buffs once you get lick you can cancel the buff wild pokemon's charge move and allow an easy jungle.
Once you get out of the jungle you can go to the top or bottom path and once you're there the bees should be there so Will-O-Wisp and spam hex to get all the exp you can get.
Since hex resets if you put a status effect on your opponent and since Will-O-Wisp burns hex will reset this allows easy early game kills which allows getting sludge bomb easily. Try being very aggressive early game and try attacking opposing pokemon in their goal zone and try-scoring too. Head back to your jungle and this time it will be faster because you have hex and maybe Sludge Bomb. After you jungle head bottom path to get dread.
After you get Sludge Bomb head to dread and easily take dread if an opposing pokemon is there wait a little bit and sludge bomb them for a surprise attack and easily kill dread for the levels.
Gengar needs the first dread because Gengar being higher level allows him to easily kill the opposing pokemon and be a carry for the team and get easy kills.
How Hex works if any opposing or wild pokemon has a status effect even if you didn't do it your hex will reset and heal also after you hex basic attack because your basic attack will be boosted every time you use hex. I'm pretty sure that if you use shell bell your cooldown will be like 0.1 seconds if you have decimal numbers on and if I'm correct I watched a video about hex Gengar and they didn't have shell bell so they had to wait 1 second for hex to come back. Also, Shell Bell well make your hex heal more but only one time then it will go on cooldown
How Phantom Ambush works you dash in any direction you want and you become invisible and you can move across the battlefield if you use a move or get hit you will not be invisible anymore but you can still do your uppercut. So Sludge Bomb and then hex then uppercut for a maximum damage combo!
You can easily do jungle rotations and get the most exp for zap.
Once it hits 2:00 you need to head to zap and try knocking down enemies. Your teammates will help with that too so you can get an easy zap.
Soft pokemon that you can jump on.
This just means pokemon with bad hp will be easy for you to knockout. Just hide in the grass and wait for pokemon like greninja, Gardevoir, and Deciueye. these pokemon can not get away from you. You can just bully them all game.
Try taking exp from the opponent's side.
After you get Gengar you can just take exp from the opponents and be easy to kill opponents when you have the big level advantage.
I know he is using a different build but I can't find any videos with the same build so hope you like this instead :)
