Guide

Garchomp is very good in some situations, and bad in some others. You have trouble getting in, and crowd control is your worst nightmare, however bypassing these will allow you to deal some positively lethal damage to your foes.

Bulldoze is the better first option, as you can take multiple wild 'mons from your teammates and keep yourself fed during the long journey to Gabite. Dig is your generally better option, as you can ignore the opponent's attacks while getting in, as well as knocking them up, allowing you to start chunking the foe. Earthquake is the preferred choice, as it gives you 2-3 stacks without having to touch your opposition.

Muscle Band is an obvious and essential item for Garchomp, as it raises your basic attacks even further. Buddy Barrier is also great, as it lets your already good Unite help you out even more, notably with Score Shield. Score Shield itself is great at bolstering your bulk, along with Garchomp's nature allowing it to get some sneaky scores off with ease. Eject Button is always a great item, however Garchomp already has poor move speed, so it helps you out a lot (especially during the dreaded early game).

Top provides better EXP, so I recommend always going there. You could also jungle if the slot's open, but there are better 'mons for it. In the early game, you always wanna be looking for farm. Go take the mid Corphish by any means necessary, and then take the Aipoms, then the central Corphishes. Try to get level 7 by Drednaw, since it'll help you with getting the objective. Since Gabite has no good executes, you should wait until all the offensive 'mons on the enemy team are picked off, then take Drednaw, which should be easy considering how fast you take objectives. Keep farming (even go for a round in the jungle) until second Drednaw. Try to get to level 12, since Dig+ can help you with zoning the enemy team. When Zapdos spawns, you should be level 13 by that point. Try to kill most of the enemies and then chunk Zapdos with immense damage.

Alternate items include Energy Amplifier for Buddy Barrier (great for Zapdos defense), Focus Band for Score Shield (helps out your early game immensely), and Full Heal for Eject Button (if you want to play more of a warrior playstyle and take as many enemies down as possible).

Works Well With

Blissey

Blissey is undoubtedly your best partner. They can soar your basics to absurd damage, prevent you from getting CC'd, and heal you to keep you in the fight longer.

Wigglytuff

Wigglytuff is great for stunning your foes, which (especially during lategame) will help you chunk your opponents down faster.

Alolan Ninetales

A. Ninetails is also great at stunning adversaries. Have them just behind you, so you may rush in and obliterate the competition.
