Cram deals out a lot more damage than one might expect from a derp birb. With Whirlpool early game, it can clean up wild pokemon easily with a well placed Whirlpool. I usually will place the whirlpool with the outer most edge at the wild mons feet, with the center of the whirlpool towards me to lead them into max damage. Usually one move like this will completely nuke wild Aipom and Corphish HP bars. As I'm laning towards top lane, I try and save Whirlpool for the first and final two Aipoms using this method, that way it'll get them started for you and your lane partner early. If Whirlpool doesn't get the KO, basic attacks should be more than enough to get the job done. After the two Aipoms, try going straight for the neutral Corphish camp first, leading your whirlpool between yourself and it to get max damage.

It goes without saying, that you have to be careful with Crams Hurricane and Whirlpool. Then require some careful planning with how you're going to use them. Hitting Hurricane can be crucial to your success as Cramorant. Typically leading someone into it goes without saying. But if your laning with a Wiggly or Slowbro, predicting things can be a little easier, for both yourself and whomever your teamed with. You'll first want to hit them with Hurricane, then combo that up with Surf as Hurricane's animation starts to drop them, keeping them from moving while taking huge damage. If you don't have a fully charged basic attack at the time of using one of your cooldowns, you'll want to hit Hurricane, basic attack, Surf, basic attack, for max damage since both of your cooldowns reloads your heavy basic attack.
