Guide
Machamp is incredibly fun to play as an all rounder, and probably the pokemon that best exemplifies the play style of the all rounder archetype. This guide is just an overview of my favourite Machamp build, I'm currently at Great 2 after playing ranked casually for around two days and have played Machamp in a majority of games.
Machamp is going to be the most effective in the bottom lane, either as the main damage dealer or as an attacker enabler. Once you've secured the bottom lane you are free to roam as long as you keep an eye on your fellow laner, Machamp is incredibly fast once you get submission that roaming and basing aren't too risky.
To begin with pick Karate Chop, it deals pretty significant damage and helps clear mobs coming into early laning and can chunk enemy players for a lot of damage in early confrontations.
Submission is easily Machamps best move, it not only acts as a gap closer and roots enemies, but can also save you by boosting out of a sticky situation. It also makes roaming and coming back from base incredibly fast, meaning you're going to be helping your team quicker and consistently. Of note too, running with Submission and/or Ult in the Speed Flux Zone will essentially ignore the slow.
Close Combat is the better option for Machamp over Cross Chop, though the latter is situationally beneficial especially when up against bursty speedy teams. However, Close Combat is going to be a better option more often than not, Hindrance immunity and bonus damage on afflicted enemies, means bonus damage and ability to ignore crowd control, making Close Combat a versatile and effective move.
The Items for this build are focused on increasing Machamps Attack damage as much as possible, the current setup I've gone with is Muscle Band, Focus Band, and Attack Weight. Pick either Eject Button or Potion as your utility item, pick evasion or sustain respectively.
Muscle Band adds Attack and Attack Speed, it also helps take down tankier or healing opponents by granting bonus damage based on their current health. This is the best general Attack item in my opinion, always use.
Focus Band may seem like an odd choice, but it provides defense against all damage types and gives Machamp extra sustain, often making the difference between being KO'd and winning fights. If you want to take this build in a purely offensive direction I'd recommend replacing Focus Band with Float Stone,
Finally we have Attack Weight, its simple effect may be a little underwhelming, but the scaling it provides is ridiculous. At full upgrade Attack Weight grants 12 permanent bonus Attack upon scoring up to 6 times, which is an absolutely absurd boost if you score more than a single goal. A disclaimer though, if you don't score this item is not great, I'd recommend Float Stone or Leftovers as a replacement.
That's my build, I hope anyone who tries it has a great time ^.^
I may make a video or stream this build at somepoint so stay tuned.

A long range attacker with built in hindrances, a perfect accompaniment to Machamp's brawler style kit.
