Guide
Characters like Dragapult are very difficult to explain, especially as someone who has a lot of experience with MOBAs. How do you describe concepts like spacing, kiting and vision control effectively to new players? And then it dawned on me: Tools like this are forged through trial and error, and aren't something that a guide will solve for you. That being said, I will still attempt to give you the information needed to help solidify these concepts in your gameplay.
As a ranged attacker, spacing is by far the most important tool you have at your disposal. Your attack range is visible any time you hold down the A (or B if you have the advanced controls) button(s), and it's important to get the visual for that circle burned into your mind if you want to be able to play to your range properly. Especially with the glass cannon nature of a build like Phantom Force, there's almost never a reason to have your main target anywhere near the inner half of your range.
Kiting is something complimentary to spacing, which comes as the answer to the question: "How do I keep them at range without sacrificing my damage output?" To keep it very simple, kiting is the action of moving away from your opponents to either draw them away from their team or to help keep yourself out of their threat range. Remember the circle I told you to keep visualizing around yourself? Every 'mon in the game has their own range to play around, and it'll take some experimenting to get that figured out, but once you're comfortable with it, try and stay outside of their threat range while keeping them just on the edge of theirs.
In general, these concepts are important to the cast in general, but the last one I had mentioned only really applies to Dragapult and Sableye: Vision control! With Phantom Force, you activate it and gain a move speed buff and stealth for 6 seconds. This isn't enough to make any major moves, but it's definitely enough to move from Escavalier to the middle of top lane. This is especially useful when ganking immobile lanes (Alolan Ninetales, Espeon, Glaceon, Chandelure, etc), as they won't have a way out if you get the jump on them, and when invading the enemy's side of the map to steal XP.
Most of the value you'll get out of this moveset will come from how well you're able to play around the vulnerabilities the enemy team has. Do they struggle at extended fights? Wait till they play their cards then pop Phantom Force and make them regret it. Do they have a lot of consistent CC? Make sure you keep your full heal on standby and tear through their health bars. Are they super mobile? Use Shadow Ball as a disengage and keep your space.
Lastly: Objective fights. Your bread and butter! Dreep and Destroy's % Health damage is very strong at securing objectives, but you have to be sure to position properly. If more than one other 'Mon is in the range of D&D, you won't be able to properly target the objective.
Best of luck on Aeos Island and on your climb!

Blastoise provides excellent peel for you, as well as consistent CC assuming they go surf/hydro. This gives you a huge window to shred your opponents
