Guide
When the battle begins, we're going to start off with Dragon Breath. This allows Dratini to have a larger range of damage starting off, which is great for farming things like Combee/Swablu for Exp. points and Aeos Energy, the latter of which is an essential part of this set as scoring is everything for this Dragonite. You're going to go to the bottom path as I find that more often than not, opposing Pokemon are found guarding the top goals more than the bottom goals which makes scoring easier for this guy. Remember: Less is more when you're scoring with this set. It makes the score quicker and the boosts come easier. When you evolve into Dragonair at level 5, always choose Dragon Dance for the attack boost. Extreme Speed can be good, but more damage is always appreciated. At level 8, when you become Dragonite, Outrage is the better pick over Hyper Beam for this set as it deals more physical damage and that's what this one is all about. In terms of the items, the Attack Weight is essential as it's going to be your booster after you score those small goals. The Scoring Shield is also key as it prevents attacks from stopping you from scoring. The Weakness Policy is kind of just there, as many will probably want to take you out at this point, but this will only just increase your attack. The Goal Getter makes scoring faster in case you want to score more points at a certain time. X Attack, however, is a great alternative if you will just score small the entire game.
Works Well With
Snorlax is a good ally for this Dragonite set as its plethora of self-healing moves can make it an effective meat shield for when Dragonite is stunned by Outrage.
Greedent's moves are capable of providing many berries for Dragonite, and this is important for it as this Dragonite fails to do much for itself healing-wise.
Mr. Mime is an excellent buddy for this Dragonite build as it can create unpassable walls for Dragonite to recover from Outrage.
