Fairly easy to use use water spout first then rapid spin which will rest water spouts cooldown then hold down water spout button during the rapid spin to deal more damage sp. atk specs increases your special attack after scoring a goal choice specs increases damage output the higher your special attack is, shell bell allows you to heal after using a move this heal is higher the higher your special attack is. I have had the most success with eject button due to it teleporting you in the designated direction but x speed and potion are very strong to because x speed increases overall movement speed for a few seconds working like eject button in a way and potion heals you too. Unite move will stun enemies around you and deals a decent amount of damage plus a shield to keep you even further alive.

Other amazing held items for blastoise.

Wise glasses: just increases special attack really simple but can be effective with the other items.

Focus band: after receiving damage you start to heal 11% of that damage for 3 seconds this will go on cooldown so more tankyness pretty much not the best though.

Rapid fire scarf: after 3 basic attacks your basic attack speed will be increased for a short time but this will go on cooldown afterward.

Weakness policy: after receiving damage your next attack does more damage this does stack up to 4 times but the item is not necessarily needed that much.
